Sunday night was the 160 Workshops holiday party and it was a truly extraordinary night. Each guest brought either a story to tell, some food to share, a mixed CD, or a craft to demonstrate. Dinner was a variety of curries, bread, samosas, latkes, and sandwiches, all delicious. When everyone was served, the storytelling started, and then we all ate gigantic plates of dessert (Chocolate pie! Key lime pie! Blueberry pie! Poppyseed cake! Florentines! Shortbread!) and settled down on couches and cushions to watch people demonstrate book making, sewing, snowman making, and more. I was amazed by the easy-going feeling of the night, and how appreciative and sincere everyone was. It was structured, but not artificial, and everyone in attendance seemed to be having a genuinely great time. I came home full of food and ready for bed.

Thanks for posting all the great pictures and lovely words! It was wonderful having you there with your great story about crying and mittens on fences and Canadians.
