Wheeeeeee! Wednesday! It is absurd how fun watching TV with your friends can be. Especially completely ridiculous TV. Yes, last night it was time for the weekly America's Next Top Model Extravaganza at New France. Adam and Darlene didn't come, sadly. Though I'm sure they were at least slighty amused/intrigued by the fifteen (!) e-mails that flew back and forth between various other ANTME participants yesterday. Most of the messages concerned Michael's insistance that we not eat any food at all on the New Furniture of New France. And Shy Dog was instructed to stay on the floor like the animal she (barely) is.
Megan was a first time participant in the ANTME, and was happy to come after she'd ascertained that knitting was in fact allowed upon the couches of New France. The knitting was to make up for her lack of interest in the show itself, but I certainly heard at least one "Oh, honey... no!" directed at the TV from behind her needles. So perhaps the ridiculousness enthralled her a tiny bit.
Prior to the festivities, though, Michael appeared on my front steps to hang out briefly with Andrea and her Better Half and the famous Morty. Michael is kind of like a big puppy himself, so Morty enjoyed their interactions.

It was a very Sesame Street kind of evening, with everyone out and about and running into each other and getting caught up on gossip and news.
Why I Love Weekly TV Nights:
1. Turns boring/drecky TV into a social event.
2. Allows for weekly guarenteed hang out time with people you might not get to see otherwise.
3. Low key, low expectation socializing that ends at a manageable hour for a weeknight.
4. A great excuse to eat some junk food.
5. The TV show becomes secondary to the group of people you're watching it with.
And then there is the oppourtunity to send 15 emails to a group of people, with each message getting more and more insane. It brightens the work day.
