You may have to just take my word for its loveliness.
The one issue I had with the desk was that it is substantially longer than my other one. Which left no room at the end of it for my gigantic (and ugly) second hand filing cabinet. Hmmmm. I moved the filing cabinet across the room. This did nothing to take away from its ugliness. The filing cabinet was also half useless, seeing as the top drawer had no tracks on which to hang filing folders so it had just become a repository for crap that I had no other place for.
Megan to the rescue again. She happened to mention that Staples had pretty filing cabinets on sale. Pretty and with two functioning drawers. I was on it. Indeed Staples did have cabinets in pink and blue and orange. Since my bedroom already has a lot of blue in it. I chose orange.

Isn't it pretty?
Of course, all of this new furniture with drawers meant that I was forced to reorganize my entire existence. Which is what I spent the better part of tonight doing. However, once I got my computer reassembled I was able to watch episodes of America's Next Top Model* on the marvelous internet, and that helped to make the sorting and organizing much less dreary.
Now everything in my bedroom is in order. I still need to tackle the living room. I think someone in my immediate family is supposed to buy me something to put my record player on, since my mom initially gave me one of her old nightstands for this purpose and it has since been stolen by the responsible, house-purchasing child in the family. I feel like either my mother or Responsible House-Purchasing Child said that I was owed a table. If that is the case then I guess I want this one. It looks record-player-compliant.
So now it's time for bed, I guess. Too bad it seems to be occupied.
J.
*an old season that I hadn't watched before.
